The Center for Liver Diseases at the University of Chicago Medical Center was developed to centralize the care of patients with liver disease and to develop a comprehensive and coordinated approach to the study of new and improved treatment options for patients suffering from liver disease. The integration of patient care, research and education is the framework within which we operate.
On this site, you will find in-depth information about our program, including biographies of our staff, directions for making appointments, information about some common procedures, clinical trial opportunities, and helpful tips about our associated liver transplant program.
The University of Chicago Liver Transplant Program is the oldest in the Midwest, having been established in 1984, and is fourth oldest in the country.
